Couldn’t Have Done it Without You, 2016.

WITHOUT YOU
Couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support this year. So, thank you.
Thank you to MY STUDENTS who always show up and entrust their bodies with me. 🤸🏻‍♀️

Thank you to MY INSTAGRAM COMMUNITY who is always encouraging and sending good vibes. 💫

Thank you to MY FAMILY who have allowed me to pursue this tirelessly and trusted in my discernment. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Thank you to MY FRIENDS who have walked alongside this journey with me and lifted me up when I was down. 👯

Thank you to THOSE WHO HAVE ENQUIRED AND CONNECTED with me, Holy Yoga and classes. Follow your dreams and your calling, I say.

I started this year not knowing where this road would take me. From a small community class of friends at the local school hall on Sundays…. then with the school hall shutting down and no place to teach, God provided a new place. A beautiful yoga studio which I could afford to grow my ministry in. God continue to provide and brought more students along. From one Sunday class, it became 4 weekly classes.

From little awareness of what Holy Yoga was, we were featured in various publications such as the Sydney Morning Herald, the Age, the ABC and Salvation Army’s Warcry (Australia) magazine.

From repeated prayers on being able to teach in my church community, God placed me in Wesley Mission’s School for Seniors.

From various controversial conversations to being at total peace with what I am gifted to do.

From not knowing where to go to not knowing where to go, my faith keeps me going.

2017 is still unknown. I have no idea how this journey will look like again, although there will be a few exciting changes I’m sure of. Stay tuned and see you all next year!

Much love,

Josephine xx

End of 2016, Come 2017

“2016”

A yearful of hard work.
A yearful of rewards.
A yearful of vulnerability.
A yearful of courage.
A yearful of pain.
A yearful of comfort.
A yearful of sowing.
A yearful of reaping.
A yearful of sickness.
A yearful of health.
A yearful of serving.
And so…. a yearful of JOY.

Looking forward to a new year of new yearfuls. Bring on 2017!!

The end of 2016 is approaching. I’ve spent less time doing yoga and more time with family and friends this last month of the year. It has been an amazing year full of achievements, happiness, migraines even but full of love and joy spurred on by the Holy Spirit.

The man in the background, hardly ever seen on this Instagram page. He’s the MAN “behind the scenes”. Literally. He’s not always physically around. But with him, is how I grow in Him (with the big H). My husband, my best friend, is the great reminder on SERVITUDE.

The one in front of him is our little boss in this household. Together with my older son, we form the circle of bosses where we boss each other around.

Nevertheless, in the centre of this is our BIG BOSS, our loving Father G-O-D, whom my husband reminds us to always centre ourselves around.

So thankful for this year of serving. Thankful for my husband’s guidance. Even when he is at his peak annoyance index.

A Thing or Two about Marriages & Relationships

Social media may mask the shadows of everyday life and relationship problems that we all have. In a broken world we live in, we experience some difficulty in relationships. Most often, it is with the ones we are closest with. Much of my posts seem happy go lucky but behind the scenes, there are rough days of course! BUT there is ALWAYS LIGHT in my life. 🙌🏻

Every time I feel suffocated from the depths of deep water, I know I just need to use my last breath to reach my arm out to Jesus and not to give up. Because He is the ultimate reconciler. This morning, He came to the rescue.

“Donʼt urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.” ~ Ruth ‭1:16‬

What brings JOY?

1.  Good News brings great JOY!
Hope is granted to all those who hear and share the Good News.

2. MEETING with Jesus brings great JOY!
He came and bridged my life. Carried me out from darkness and into light. There’s always light if you turn to Him. 💫

3. Finally, FOLLOWING Jesus brings great JOY!
For the love of Christ The guy who came to save me (and you!) Merry Christmas 🎄

Yoga Everywhere!

My husband asked me why I decided to practice my handstands on the streets. I thought, “Why not? There’s no one on this quiet street and it’s beautiful.” It’s my way of living life to it’s fullest. God didn’t give me a life of blessings only for me to worry.

Some form of Christian Yoga in HK?

My Holy Yoga journey has travelled with me through 15 cities, 9 countries in the past 18 months. Of all of my favourite of these 15 cities snapped in this account, Paris was amazing but nothing truly beats my hometown HK.

It is such an honour to have been a part of the roots and foundations of Holy Yoga in Australia 🇦🇺, as I pray on the growth of Holy Yoga, my hope is that a beautiful soul will answer His calling into this wonderful community here in #HongKong.

I know it’s not every day you get to crow with an amazing harbour view…. 🇭🇰 HONG KONG, you are beautiful still.

My 3rd yoga class this week. I’m really get to used to this 😊 Always learning, always humbling.  I wish there was something like Pure Yoga in Australia!

Thankful to my brother in Christ, Mr W, who has been going to these sessions with me and his rigorous questioning of what is appropriate to do or not in yoga, physically and spiritually! I know he’ll always keep me in check!

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of Godʼs mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godʼs will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ” ~ Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Happy 2 Years | Efficient Media

Well well, we have certainly lived up to our name and grow our business efficiently! You heard it. Simply and efficiently.

We celebrate our two year anniversary this November. From humble beginnings to a rapidly growing team and a new office move in the works, I’m as efficiently proud as I can be. Proud because of the hard work that our key guy, Timothy Paris, has taken it to this height.

In 2016, I took a bit of a backseat with working “in” the business to grow my ministry. I’ve had to juggle much to work “on” the business instead of “in”. With this adjustment, Tim and I have had to find even more efficient ways of growing. Truth be told, it’s not easy. It requires shrewdness and discipline.

From a heavily SEM focussed agency, we have grown to extend our services into more holistic digital solutions, providing our clients with strategic input and executing on action plans in areas such a Social media, Display buys and web development.

We are planning our 2 year birthday party and tying this in with our new office opening, not to mention a welcoming party to a few more new staff to help us expand and grow. So stay tuned!

They say that most small businesses fail within 2 years. I have certainly experienced that first hand myself, too. With Efficient Media celebrating it’s 2nd birthday, I am not only proud of our stable foundations but excited about bringing Efficient Media to new heights!

None of this would have been possible without the support and understanding of our loving spouses and our awesome clients. Thank you all for all of your support, business and awesomeness!

To another year of success! 2017, bring it on !

For those who follow my journey, I’d love to hear from you if you need any help with digital branding, marketing…digital everything!

My Last Yoga Class of 2016 | Wesley Mission

A year ago, I was praying a lot for an opportunity to show my church that Holy Yoga can be introduced to Christians. Why? Because, a lot of Christians believe that Yoga is incompatible with their faith. I disagreed and felt that God called me into this ministry and gave me permission to incorporate this into ministry life.

From not knowing where to go to teaching my final class at Wesley Mission today, it has been a blessed and anointed journey.

These students come from all walks of life and have a breath and depth of life experience. They come from different cultural and religious backgrounds and gather here in this Community Centre to be in relationship with people and to learn and grow.

I am so thankful for their love. That they have embraced me for who I am, what I preach, how I teach without judgement. This is a place where I truly feel “no judgement”.

Today’s class was led by a fellow Christian Yogi. It was an opportunity for her to grow at the same time a Divine plan for me, as I had broken my toe a week before and was extremely late to class for the first time. The unpredictable circumstances and how it was neatly catered for was no coincidence and definitely Divine intervention. For that, there is no shortage of praise and glory to our Big Man Above who also knows best.

I love gifting. It’s my passion because I know that it’s a way I can share my love with others. Today, I had the honour to gift my students with Kris Kringle stockings I had been making for a couple of weeks. I was also blessed with a gift and lunch treat from them in return.

During lunch, my student said this to me:

“I have more respect for Wesley Mission since seeing yoga classes being offered as part of the curriculum. It says to me that they are diverse and accepting of different cultures. You are an anointed teacher in a blessed place. I truly believe in your spiritual journey and teachings. Thank you.”

Now, THIS, is the heart of what I do. Not to segregate but to unite.

The thought of not teaching next year did cross my mind because Friday mornings could mean some down time for me. But I would dishonour myself, Wesley Mission, my students and my faith if I didn’t continue to serve in this joyous place. So, with that said, Happy Christmas and see you all in 2017!

FAITH, COURAGE & PERSISTENCE | Must Haves in Serving & Business

I’m so honoured to be invited by Fideliz Cruz to be featured on her lifestyle channel recently.

FAITH, COURAGE & PERSISTENCE.
THE MUST HAVES IN SERVING & BUILDING A BUSINESS

Have you seen my interview with Fideliz Cruz? Watch the full episode here:

Here are my tips when serving and building your business:

1) Grace – allowing grace and remembering that we are all made uniquely different – when working with someone that works differently from you, and when you’re faced with a difficult or challenging situation, allow grace and trust in God’s plan.

2) Faith – trust that He [God] has a plan for you. you might not understand when you come across obstacles but keep going with courage.

3) Persistence – “You can not know whether it’s God’s plan or whether you’ve not done enough if you don’t persist. If you’ve persisted and its still not working you know that you can still trust in the plan. But if you didn’t persist and you didn’t give it your 100% you wonder whether it was me or what it was…”

When God says, “No” and “Slow” with a Broken Toe

• A LESSON OF PATIENCE •

A week ago, a landed in Phuket for my first day of my mini-girls getaway and a girlfriend’s wedding. Within hours of starting my holiday, I managed to bunk my toe while walking into the pool. Yup, nothing dramatic. Just walked into the pool. My toe caught something, most likely the bubble jet and that was it. For the next 6 weeks, I will be nursing this.

Meanwhile, let’s just say this trip was very relaxing. Thanks to my girlfriends who were very thoughtful and patient with me, they worked around my schedules and took real good care of me. I’m so thankful and blessed with these girls.
Today is 1 week after the incident. (By the way, day 6’s bruising seemed the worst! But the pain has subsided though). I am back home and wondering what all of this meant. The minute I landed, my hubby was off on his work travel trips as usual and I was left to unpack, catch up on work and house chores all awhile being slowed down by this toe. My older son also managed to sprain his ankle. So that’s double trouble! Before I went on trip, I had wrapped up most of my yoga teaching for the year and was hoping to get a breather and move quicker with the clearer schedule.

Turns out – NO. God has different plan for me. He had timed this perfectly, in fact. I hear Him speaking “SLOW” in my life, as in “slow down”.

If I still had many classes to run, it would be an awful feeling. And while I wanted to run fast, God is holding me back – Teaching me a lesson of patience (slow down). Teaching me it’s not always about what’s being done but what’s being. Yup, period. What is “being”.

It isn’t natural for me. And I must say, it was frustrating to come back from holidays as first with this. But hey! That’s why I love Jesus. He gets me up on my feet. No matter how I feel, I can calibrate the minute I think of His love for me. I know there’s ALWAYS SOMETHING GOOD in everything. Because I’ve got a good good Father watching over me!

Resting a little, slowing down a little more, and learning a little more.
#thankyouJesus
