Fideliz Cruz Vision Casting Workshop | Anointed Leadership

Another great event and highlight to my week. Despite the hiccups and challenges I have had with family issues, I’m so grateful the Lord provided and allowed for me to participate in this workshop.

As I always say, “Showing up is half way there”. I’m proud that I showed up and Jesus, as always, showed up for me.

Last session in April, only 3 months ago (although it seemed a lot longer!), my mission statement was,

“To be a fearless and faith-filled entrepreneur and yoga therapist, joyfully serving God in my business, community and loving my family.”

I was so ecstatic about having a sharp goal and vision, I made sure that the mood/vision board was laminated and stuck on the wall of my walk-in wardrobe so that every morning when I dress myself, I would wear my mission.

And boy, did I!

I have to admit that reviewing my past quarter’s actions against the mission was a daunting move. But I’m so glad I made space for that time and did it. I am able to say that I tried my best to live it out and simply because I made a commitment to it and made it a habit to remind myself daily.

And all because the beautiful Fideliz gave me the tools to do that. Talk about anointed leadership!

This time, in this July vision casting workshop, I was blessed to be able to meet other like-minded beautiful women – some whom I have been divinely and newly connected via social media and others whom I have connected with very naturally since my Holy Yoga journey . This workshop has provided and will continue to be an opportunity for an in-person gatherings for like-minded women!

If you’ve chanced upon this blog or have been meaning to meet up with me to talk Christian Yoga and Wellness, please do reach out as I will have tickets for the next one happening in October! I can’t wait.

Meanwhile, my goal for this quarter has taken a more specific position as I feel the Lord giving me permission to step up and into this space with honour. I pray that He will give me the wisdom, grace and strength to journey through and serve Him joyfully.

“My vision is to be an anointed leadership in business, women’s communities and my family. I am committed to showing up, serving Jesus and personal growing in faith.”

For more information and to join this beautiful community, the next workshop will be in October. Stay tuned by following my social media and check out http://www.fidelizcruz.com!

Until next time, friends xx

Will You Volunteer? | Wesley Mission Volunteer Annual Awards

I am so honoured to be a part of this loving community of volunteers at Wesley Mission’s School for Seniors. Here, fellow Yoga teacher, Crystal (Founder of Smileyoway) and I get together for the thanksgiving event and volunteer awards. We had such a blessed time. It was so rewarding to hear of the work of amazing volunteers and how their effort changes others.

For me, volunteering is not just about “giving back”. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to serve and get much fulfilment from it. People often ask me why I do it. Well, it is for the love of people and for the love of self-fulfilment.

This year, every Friday, it has been the most rewarding to come out of teaching my yoga class to the senior school students there. There have been challenging moments and painful times. Even times that make me wonder whether I am built for volunteer work. But walking alongside the church, I am reminded of Jesus’ steadfastness in serving His people. I am reminded of loving people who are hard to love. I have learnt what it means to hold appropriate boundaries and gate out danger. I have learnt a fine balance between opening the gate to serve willingly and joyfully and closing the gate to avoid resentment and bitterness.  Most weeks, Friday is my favourite day. Not just because it’s the end of the week (because, frankly for me, it isn’t anyways as I minister and teach on Sundays). But Friday brings a breath of fresh air from my volunteer experience. Every Friday is different. But every Friday is rewarding in some way.

Jesus gave us the command to “love your neighbour as you love yourself. (Mark 12:31) ” No better place, means, ways, time and people to do so than to serve as volunteer at Wesley Mission.

Living My Dream in Kids Ministry

From a young age, I’ve been blessed with a gift of teaching and a way with kids.  Most kids get along with me and I them.  It’s something that I’m very grateful for.

Growing up, I’ve volunteered at Child Care centres, youth groups and most recently assistant helping with kindergarten and school kids at my son’s school.

Last year, I was given an opportunity to be employed by the Kids Ministry at my church.  It was a tough decision but I turned it down, feeling that the time wasn’t right.  I knew that God will call again if that was His plan.

This year, I am honoured and take pleasure in re-visiting this dream.   Not in an employment capacity but to serve Him when I can.

Kids.  They are our future.  They are the responsibilities that God has given us to grow His Kingdom.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. ~Psalm 127:3

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. ~ 3 John  1:4

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. ~Proverbs 22:6

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ~Deuteronomy 6:7

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. ~ Isaiah 54:13

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” ~Matthew 19:14
